In 2014, I wanted to buy a Coffee Table Arcade System that would look GREAT in any living room. The problem was – I couldn’t find any. They either looked like an arcade machine, or the wood finish coffee table ones had obvious buttons, joysticks, and a screen showing. There’s no way the missus would let me keep such a table in the living room and it would sadly be religated to “man-cave” to collect dust for eternity.
So I set about designing a stylish and elegant coffee table that not only looked like it belonged in the living room but also doubled as an epic gaming system with NO obvious buttons, joysticks, or screen to be seen. Guest too would none-the-wiser until they opened one of the table’s drawers to reveal its little secret.
Why the Name, “Dingo” ?
Childhood knickname that just kind of stuck. Afterall, I did grow up in Australia and was a bit of a scruffy kid, so the name was pretty relevant I guess. Just for a bit of fun when I started making silly inventions in my late teens/early 20s, I would preface everything with “Dingo-“. There was the Dingo-Campervan, Dingo-Coffee Machine, Dingo-Surf, Dingo-Computers and a few others – most of which I never properly documented as they were just for fun and this was a time before social media.
